I’ve always loved working with my hands, and therefore have an arsenal of side-projects which regularly keep me busy. I picked up bookmaking early in college and have loved it ever since!
As an avid reader I always felt that a physical book brings a deeper connection between myself and the book. As an artist, I loved exploring different papers and textures. Bookmaking must combine these concepts along with a love for stitching the spine and planning the book’s size, covers, and overall appeal.
The spine for this finished book is Coptic Stitched with a denim fabric remnant from a craft store. The paper was found at a local art re-sale shop, and the cover boards were cut from the backing of an old sketch pad.
